What we do

Our Name

Many friends ask what’s the meaning of the name The6th.
The answer is in this small animated video. It comes from a novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, that was first published on The New York Times in 2004.

Enjoy the story.
(The music is Alexandre Desplat’s theme of The Fantastic Mr Fox)

The team

Emanuele Basso

Art director, illustrator & graphic designer, with an uncommon passion for cinema (look at his facebook page “Ditemi 10 film” if you have the same passion)
He worked 7 years in McCann Erickson Milan and Barcelona for Italian and International clients: La Gazzetta dello Sport, Unilever (Algida, Wall’s, Findus), Vodafone, Microsoft, Fujitsu. In the meanwhile, Emanuele published Dormy, a humorous book to fight insomnia, wrote the short-film “11B”, teached graphic design and Adv at NABA and created the streetwear brand Quiero Alas.
But many love stories end after 7 years. This one too.
So he said goodbye to McCann and started a new experience, away from worldwide communication groups: became co-founder of Tita, creative agency working on Feltrinelli, Accademia Teatro alla Scala, Comieco and City of Milan.
After three years, he left Tita, looking for something new, more design oriented. Something he could call home. That’s The6th.

Elena Carella

Copywriter and strategic planner with a strong passion for design.
She started her career in Saatchi&Saatchi Milan, working on Mondadori and Telecom Italia, then she moved to DDB, creating campaigns for Audi, ATM and Volkswagen.
Journalist, since 2001, writing for Interni (Electa Mondadori), Grazia (Mondadori) and Ventiquattro (Il sole 24 Ore) and creator, with Emanuele Basso, of the streetwear brand Quiero Alas.

In 2011 she changed agency and city, becoming creative supervisor in JWT Rome.
But after years in International creative agency she said “thanks for know-how and experience” and decided to paddle her own canoe. Paddling, paddling, she docked at The6th.

Antonella Manenti

Graphic designer & illustrator with a real powerful style. She’s still a student but she works like a veteran professionist. Antonella comes from Veneto, so she has an uncommon skill in making spritz!
